Jamie is no newbie on the internet. Better known as "DarkSakura" for over fifteen years online, she has done everything from chat hosting for Cartoon Network on AOL to moderating for DDR Freak to co-hosting the long-running video game podcast, Orange Lounge Radio. In addition to this, she is also a columnist for geek culture blog Geek Life.

Though she no longer lives there and will admit to never wanting to move back, Jamie is very proud of her Alabama roots and thinks kids in California could do with a dose of proper manners (and getting off of her lawn). She's been living in California now almost fourteen years and is happily married to Dan "GunstarHero" DeVriend, an avid classic gamer and pinball enthusiast, who she met over AOL back when you paid by the hour. Together, they have a fat cat named Shermie and collect obscure video games and systems which they keep in a room called "The Vault".

After years of listening to "everybody else", Jamie decided to go with what she loved and is currently in school to get her graphic design degree, focusing on publication, while offering her skills as a freelance designer. Her many hobbies mix quite well with her love of design, especially anything having to do with type. She hopes to make a living doing what she loves and dedicates her spare time to causes she believes in, such as the ECA and animal care.
